Frequently Asked Questions
From what age can Élhée sunscreen be used on a baby?
From birth.
Unlike most sunscreens, which are only recommended from 6 months onwards, Élhée’s formula has been specifically developed for newborns and tested under pediatric and dermatological supervision.
This means you can use it safely from the very first days of life, whenever sun exposure is unavoidable (stroller walks, terrace, beach outings…). Of course, we always recommend prioritizing shade and protective clothing, but our sunscreen is there for those moments when that’s not enough.
Can I use Élhée sunscreen while pregnant?
Yes, and it is even considered ideal during pregnancy.
Élhée sunscreen contains next-generation UVA filters, particularly effective in preventing the appearance of pregnancy mask (melasma), which affects many expectant mothers.
Its ultra-gentle, fragrance-free organic formula reduces the risk of skin reactions, even on sensitive or hormonally reactive skin.
What sun filters does it contain exactly?
Here are the filters used in Élhée sunscreen, all approved by European health authorities and recognized for their safety:
- Tinosorb S (Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine): protects against UVA and UVB, highly photostable, does not penetrate the skin.
- Uvinul A+ (Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone): excellent long-wave UVA filter, no known toxicity.
- Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate: photostable UVA filter, very well tolerated.
- Ethylhexyl Triazone: UVB filter, highly effective even at low concentrations.
👉 None of these filters are considered endocrine disruptors or carcinogenic.
Does Élhée sunscreen leave a white cast on the skin?
Not at all.
Our sunscreen has a fluid, lightweight, and silky texture. It does not feel sticky, leaves no white film, and absorbs quickly while staying on the surface to provide effective protection.
This is one of the major advantages of our choice of organic filters: they offer superior application comfort compared to mineral filters, while being just as safe.
Why doesn’t it contain mineral filters like titanium dioxide or zinc oxide?
Because although mineral filters are effective, they also have some drawbacks:
- They can leave a white cast on the skin (not ideal for babies).
- They are sometimes less well tolerated by infants with atopic or sensitive skin.
- In their nano form, they raise concerns about skin penetration (especially in sprays or powders).
That’s why we chose next-generation organic filters: safe, gentle, and perfectly suitable for the most sensitive skin.
Is it environmentally friendly for marine life and oceans?
Yes. Our formula is reef-safe, meaning it contains no oxybenzone, octinoxate, or nanoparticles, helping to protect coral reefs and marine ecosystems.
This is an additional commitment we make, fully aligned with Élhée’s values.
Is Élhée sunscreen water-resistant?
Yes. It is water-resistant for up to 80 minutes, making it perfect for water play and summer swimming.
Does Élhée sunscreen have a good rating on Yuka?
Yes, it is rated 100/100 on Yuka, the reference app used by millions of parents to analyze cosmetic ingredients.
This perfect score reflects the impeccable quality of the formula: free from suspected endocrine disruptors, allergens, fragrances, nanoparticles, and controversial filters.
A true guarantee of transparency and safety, allowing parents to make an informed choice with complete confidence.
