Meet Jeanne Dieuzaide, Mom of Roméo and Louise

Jeanne is the happy mother of two children, Roméo and Louise. But she is also the founder of Studio Roméo, a baby carrier brand that needs no introduction! With no knots or straps, Studio Roméo carriers are incredibly practical and are revolutionizing daily life for young parents!

In this profile, Jeanne talks to us about her life as a mom entrepreneur, her busy daily life, and her relationship with her children.

Mom and her children

Hello Jeanne, can you introduce your lovely family to us?

I am originally from Toulouse and have been living in Annecy for a few years. I am the mother of Roméo, 6 and a half, and Louise, almost 5.

Was becoming a mother always obvious for you?

Not really. At the time, I was working for an international NGO and I was traveling a lot... Motherhood was not at all something that attracted me... until you start thinking maybe it's the right time ;). I had an ectopic pregnancy (editor's note: extrauterine pregnancy) before Roméo, which really shook my husband and me, but I quickly became pregnant again and Roméo arrived in September 2013.

You nursed your children for several months; how did you experience this?

It was absolutely wonderful. I especially loved what many people do not appreciate: the nights. I found them magical. Magical to share that suspended moment. Magical being alone in the world with my baby, just the two of us awake when everyone else is asleep and everything is quiet... Truly, I loved it and it’s surely what I miss the most!

What kind of mom are you? Protective? Cool? Rather strict?

A hybrid mom between cool and strict. Let’s just say I give them enough space to be themselves, which gives me enough space to be myself and continue to do things for me and not always according to them... And the rules are very clear: they know that at 3 I turn into a momster.

What’s your relationship with your children?

Playful and trusting; above all, I try to be a good role model because, as Mother Teresa said: "Do not worry if your children do not listen to you... They watch you every day."

The ritual you never miss?

There isn't always a bedtime story... but there’s always a kiss!

What does a day as an entrepreneur mom look like?

I actually don't have a typical day: the only thing all my days have in common is that they're all really full! I do a first check of emails in the morning around 7am before everyone gets up. Then, the day goes by, I rarely take a lunch break, and I run almost every day around 4/5pm before picking up my kids at school. Sometimes I work in the evenings and on weekends, but when you love what you do, you don’t count.

Your dreams for the future?
